I am Rachna and I was introduced to this amazing art by my mom who also is a very good painter and a fabulous cook.
My earliest memory of henna is my mom decorating mine and a few of my friends hands for even the smallest occasion or festival.
I used to learn how to mix the paste, make cones and even doodle around as a hobby every chance I got.
I studied to become an engineer by profession while continuing to practice henna whenever I could. In order to better myself at henna I took lessons from a professional henna artist in Mumbai (Bombay) and still continue to do so every time I go back.
Ever since I moved from India to the bay area in 2003, henna has been a much bigger part of my life.
That’s how Henna and Beyond was started. Since then I have worked all over the Bay Area doing henna for festivals, marriages, other personal events and corporate events.
I enjoy doing my work and feel peaceful, calm and uplifted while doing henna.
I am very flexible with the work hours and do travel around the Bay Area.
